Your first night in Minecraft, then the first 10 hours
Mine 8 more Cobblestone for a Furnace and some extra for a shelter.

The Furnace smelts ores into ingots, cooks food and turns some blocks into others, such as sand into glass. It needs fuel, such as coal, wood or a Lava Bucket.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 8 × Cobblestone or Blackstone or Cobbled Deepslate. It is mined with a pickaxe. It gives off light up to level 13, depending on its state.
Put the item to process in the top slot and fuel in the bottom slot. One item is done every ten seconds, and taking the result out gives you experience. Each fuel lasts a different time: a Coal smelts several items, a stick much less.
Hoppers make it automatic: one above fills the top slot, one on the side adds fuel, one below collects the products. That is the basis of many furnace arrays and farms.
The Blast Furnace and the Smoker are specialized versions: the first only processes ores and metal items, the second only food. Cooked food restores much more hunger than raw food.
