How to find a Nether fortress and farm blazes in Minecraft
Blazes spawn only in Nether fortresses, and they are the only source of Blaze Rods.

The Blaze Rod is dropped by Blazes, the fiery mobs that guard Nether fortresses. It is the key to brewing and, through blaze powder, to the eyes of ender that lead you to the End.
As fuel it burns for 120 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 12 items.
One blaze rod on top of three cobblestone, blackstone or cobbled deepslate makes a Brewing Stand. Crafted on its own, a rod gives two Blaze Powder: the fuel every brewing stand needs, an ingredient of strength potions, and half of each Eye of Ender. Since you need a dozen or so eyes to activate an End portal, collecting rods is a classic step before the Ender Dragon.
A blaze rod on popped chorus fruit makes four End Rods, and a rod at the center of copper blocks and redstone makes four Copper Bulbs.
As fuel, a blaze rod burns for two minutes in a furnace, enough for twelve items, which makes it a strong fuel. Blaze spawners in fortresses are the usual way to farm them.
