Oak Fence block in Minecraft
Its posts are carved from the common oak of forests and plains. A fence is taller than a jump, so animals and mobs cannot get over it.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Stick and 4 × Oak Planks. It is mined with an axe. As fuel it burns for 15 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 1.5 items.
What it does
Four planks and two sticks make three fences. Fences join neighboring fences of any wood and fence gates, and attach to the sides of solid blocks, so a few dozen enclose a pasture. Wooden fences do not connect to Nether brick fences.
A Lead can be tied to a fence post to keep an animal in place. Fences let light through, can be waterlogged and make good posts for lanterns; Overworld fences burn, crimson and warped ones do not.
