6 Bamboo and 1 String make 6 Scaffolding.

Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant of the game, found in jungles and especially in bamboo jungles. A single shoot climbs up to 16 blocks high, and the harvest goes into scaffolding, sticks and a whole set of bamboo wood.
It cannot be crafted; it can be found in chests. It is mined with an axe. As fuel it burns for 2.5 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 0.3 items.
Plant bamboo on grass, dirt, sand, gravel or mud and it shoots up a block at a time; bone meal makes it jump several. Break the bottom and the whole stalk comes down. A sword cuts it instantly, so a sword is the best tool for clearing a bamboo forest.
Six bamboo and a string make six Scaffolding blocks, the climbable platforms for tall builds. Two stacked bamboo make a stick, and nine make a Block of Bamboo that turns into bamboo planks, with their own doors, rafts, signs and mosaic.
Bamboo is the favorite food of Pandas: they follow anyone who holds it, and two pandas fed with it breed. It also burns as a very small fuel.
