5 starter house plans in Minecraft, from 153 to 2,342 blocks
To reach the high rows, place Scaffolding:

Scaffolding is a temporary climbing structure: you walk up inside it by jumping and climb down by sneaking. It is made from Bamboo and String and is the quickest way to build high.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 6 × Bamboo and String. As fuel it burns for 2.5 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 0.3 items.
Place it on itself to stack it upwards very quickly. It can also stretch sideways, but only up to six blocks from a supported column; one block more and it falls.
Standing on top of it, you stay put; sneak to go down through it. Breaking the bottom block brings down the whole column, so cleaning up after a build takes seconds.
One craft gives six blocks. It also burns as fuel.
6 × Bamboo + String → 6 × Scaffolding
// Slots with several items cycle through every accepted option.
To reach the high rows, place Scaffolding:

At the Crafting Table: 6 × Bamboo and 1 × String give 6 × Scaffolding. Mining the block drops it. It can be found as loot in Trial Chambers.
It is a climbable structure for building high, removed in seconds by breaking its base.
