Oak Pressure Plate block in Minecraft
This plate is pressed from the common oak of forests and plains. A wooden pressure plate sends a redstone signal while anything at all rests on it, items and arrows included.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Oak Planks. It is mined with an axe. As fuel it burns for 15 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 1.5 items.
What it does
Two planks side by side make one plate. Unlike stone plates, which react only to players and mobs, a wooden plate also triggers on a dropped item, an arrow stuck in it or a boat, which makes it the sensor of item-detection contraptions.
Placed in front of a door, it opens it as soon as someone steps on it, but that includes zombies, so use a stone plate for doors that should stay shut to mobs.
