Wool is the soft block that sheep give, in 16 colors, and the base of beds, carpets and banners.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 4 × String (other recipes also exist). As fuel it burns for 5 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 0.5 items.
Shear a Sheep to get one to three blocks of its color, or craft one from four String. Any wool can be recolored with a dye, and dyeing the sheep itself gives colored wool every time you shear it.
Wool is the only block that sculk sensors cannot hear through: a wall of it blocks vibrations, which makes it essential near ancient cities and sculk farms. It burns easily, fuels a furnace and breaks fastest with shears.
