How to use WorldEdit in Minecraft: selections and commands
This gives you a Wooden Axe.

The Wooden Axe is an axe: the tool that cuts wood fastest, and a heavy weapon that hits harder than a sword of the same material but swings slower. Made from planks, it is the first axe you can craft: it lasts only 59 uses and chops slowly, but it gets you through the first trees. It works like every other axe; the Iron Axe page explains stripping, scraping and shield breaking.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Stick and 3 × Oak Planks (or another variant). As fuel it burns for 10 seconds in a Furnace, enough to smelt 1 items.
3 × Any of #wooden_tool_materials + 2 × Stick → Wooden Axe
// Slots with several items cycle through every accepted option.

It chops wood fast, strips logs, scrapes copper and disables shields, and hits hard as a weapon.
