Potion brewing in Minecraft: every recipe in one place
Cobbled Deepslate or Blackstone work too.

Blackstone is the dark stone of the Nether, common in Basalt Deltas and in the walls of bastion remnants. Unlike most Nether blocks, it can stand in for cobblestone, so you can make tools and a furnace without leaving the Nether.
It is mined with a pickaxe.
The game counts blackstone as a stone crafting material: stone tools, the Furnace and the Brewing Stand all accept it in place of cobblestone. That makes it a lifesaver if your pickaxe breaks far from the portal.
It is also a building palette of its own. Four blackstone make four Polished Blackstone, which leads to polished blackstone bricks, a button, a pressure plate and chiseled blocks; slabs, stairs and walls exist at every step. The gold-speckled Gilded Blackstone found in bastions drops gold nuggets.
If you trade with Piglins, bartering sometimes brings a stack of blackstone, so you rarely have to go looking for it.
