Polished Blackstone block in Minecraft
Polished Blackstone is the smoothed form of blackstone: four blackstone give four. It is the middle step of the Nether's dark stone family, and the only one that gives a button and a pressure plate.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 4 × Blackstone (other recipes also exist). It is mined with a pickaxe.
What it does
From polished blackstone you craft four Polished Blackstone Bricks, a Polished Blackstone Button and a Polished Blackstone Pressure Plate, which behave like their stone counterparts: the button gives a short pulse, and the plate only reacts to players and mobs, not dropped items.
Chiseled polished blackstone, with a piglin face carved in it, and the slabs, stairs and walls of each variant complete the set. A Stonecutter cuts blackstone straight into any of them. Bastion remnants are built from this family, so you can also mine it there ready-made.
Its dark, clean look suits Nether bases, modern builds and contrast with gold or quartz.
