What changes from one biome to the next
- Plains: the biggest of the five, a long oak hall on a Cobblestone base, with Oak Log posts, a stepped Oak Stairs roof, a row of Glass Pane windows and two Lecterns.
- Desert: a small Smooth Sandstone block trimmed with Cut Sandstone, with a flat roof, a Jungle Door, Bookshelves along the walls and potted cacti in the windows.
- Savanna: Orange Terracotta upper walls on an Acacia Log base, under an acacia roof, set on a patch of grass with Acacia Saplings and Poppies.
- Taiga: Cobblestone walls with Spruce Trapdoor shutters under a steep roof of Spruce Logs, with purple and red carpet inside.
- Snowy plains: Spruce Planks and Stripped Spruce Wood, Lanterns, and the most Bookshelves of the five, with snow covering the roof.
Building tips
Bookshelves need books, so plan some Sugar Cane and leather before you start. The Lectern is what matters for trading: an unemployed villager that claims it becomes a Librarian. Grass Blocks only drop themselves with Silk Touch: without it, place Dirt and let grass spread from a nearby Grass Block. See also the village structure page.

FAQ
Which village library is the easiest to build?
The desert library: it is the smallest of the five and none of its blocks needs Silk Touch or Shears.
Can I place these libraries with a command?
Yes. Each library has its /place template command. It uses the raw game template, so replace the jigsaw blocks it leaves behind with what the plan shows.
How many blocks does each village library need?
Plains: 631, Desert: 207, Savanna: 318, Taiga: 362, Snowy Plains: 434.
Does a villager need this exact building to become a Librarian?
No. A villager without a job becomes a Librarian when it claims a Lectern, whatever the building around it. The library is simply the nicest way to give it one.
