Minecraft builder's guide: roofs, walls and arches
wall blocks such as Cobblestone Wall.

The Cobblestone Wall is rough cobblestone built into a wall. Its material is Cobblestone, so it keeps that block's look and toughness. All slabs, stairs and walls work alike, as the Stone Slab, Stone Stairs and Cobblestone Wall pages explain; the Cobblestone page covers the material.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 6 × Cobblestone (other recipes also exist). It is mined with a pickaxe.
A wall is a fence made of stone: its hitbox is taller than a jump, so players and mobs cannot hop over it. Walls connect to neighboring walls, glass panes, iron bars and solid blocks, and show a thicker post at ends, corners and under a block placed on top.
Six blocks in two rows make six walls, and a Stonecutter turns one block into one wall. Walls can hold water, and a torch or lantern placed on a post is a common way to light a path.

At the Crafting Table: 6 × Cobblestone give 6 × Cobblestone Wall. At the Stonecutter: 1 × Cobblestone gives 1 × Cobblestone Wall. Mining the block drops it.
It is a building shape of Cobblestone, used for floors, roofs, steps and low walls.
The fastest tool is the pickaxe.
No difference: the Stonecutter turns 1 × Cobblestone into 1 × Cobblestone Wall, the same rate as the crafting recipe (6 × Cobblestone for 6).
Placed under a Note Block, Cobblestone Wall gives the Bass drum sound.
