The house

The house stands on a one-block slab of Stone Bricks that also carries the porch, with its columns and Iron Bars railings under a low slab roof. Downstairs: the living room, the dining room, a pantry and the kitchen in a bay on the east, with a step down to the garage at ground level. Upstairs: two bedrooms, an office corner and a bathroom, plus a third bedroom under the slopes of the garage roof. The walls are Gray Concrete, as on the original photos, and all the roofs are Stone Brick Stairs: a two-slope main roof at 45 degrees with gables east and west, a steep dormer over the entrance, and hips on the kitchen bay and the garage. A large north chimney with three flues ends in Flower Pots, the garage doors are White Concrete and tulip beds line the porch.

Build order

  1. Slab. Grass Blocks around, then the Stone Bricks slab under the house and the porch, with Oak Planks on top. The garage floor stays at ground level.
  2. Porch and ground floor. Porch columns and railings, then three rows of Gray Concrete. Build the hearth and the inside staircase.
  3. Upper floor. The sixth layer is the floor, with the stairwell. Three more rows of concrete on the body and the kitchen bay; the garage gets a low second row for the bedroom under the roof.
  4. Roofs. The porch roof first, in slabs. Then the main roof, one stair per row up to the ridge, the gable dormer over the entrance, the two-slope roof of the kitchen bay and the hipped garage roof.
  5. Finishing. The north chimney and its pots, porch lamps, garage doors and tulips.

Interior

A proposal: a sofa and bookshelves in the living room, a table in the dining room, barrels in the pantry, a worktop in the kitchen, and upstairs a bed in each bedroom, a desk in the office corner and a tub in the bathroom. The bedroom over the garage is reached through the house.

Credits

Plan by Courfeyracs, from the original article on minecraft.fr. The block choices and the interior are Blockaria's interpretation of that plan and its photos: the floor plan gives the walls, doors and windows, the photos give the heights and the roofs, and everything else is a proposal.

FAQ

Can I build it in survival?

Yes. Stone Bricks and Gray Concrete are the bulk; concrete needs sand, gravel and gray dye, then water to harden. The lawn uses Grass Blocks, which need Silk Touch, or Dirt and patience.

Why is the house raised on a slab?

The original plan notes a one-block slab under the house and the porch. It gives the porch its step and keeps the garage, built at ground level, one block lower than the rooms.

What can I change?

White Concrete or Spruce Planks instead of gray give the classic clapboard look. The three-sided porch can be shortened to the front only.

How many blocks do you need for the American House?

2876 blocks of 30 types, over 18 layers. The biggest items: 612 × Stone Brick Stairs, 492 × Grass Block, 444 × Oak Planks.

How do you place the American House with a command?

Type /place template blockaria:american_house ~ ~ ~ in a world with cheats on. The build appears with its north-west bottom corner at your position.
