The house

A tall central body holds the entrance, the staircase, the dining room and the kitchen, with three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The living room with its fireplace sits in a lower wing on the west, the two garages in a hipped wing on the east, and an office pushes out to the north under its own gable, next to a small turret over the bay window. The walls are Stone with Sandstone pillars and frames at the corners and around the openings; the window sills are Stone Bricks. The roofs are Spruce Stairs: the main roof is steep, one block plus one stair per row, with gables north and south, while the wings slope at 45 degrees. Two dormers face east on the garage roof and two more light the west bedroom; the garage doors are Gray Stained Glass Panes.

Build order

  1. Ground. Stone under the walls, Oak Planks in the rooms, Smooth Stone in the garages, on the south forecourt and in front of the garage doors.
  2. Ground floor. Three rows of Stone, placing the Sandstone pillars where the plan marks them. Build the hearth, the outside chimney and the Oak Stairs up to the first floor.
  3. First floor. The fifth layer is the floor, with a Sandstone band around the outside walls. Three more rows for the central body; the wings stop here.
  4. Roofs. Start with the two wings at 45 degrees (one stair per row), then the steep main roof and its two gables, then the porch gable, the office gable, the turret and finally the four dormers, whose small roofs run back up into the main slope.
  5. Finishing. Balcony railing on the porch, garage doors, hedges and lanterns.

Interior

A proposal: a sofa facing the fire and a low table in the living room, a long table in the dining room, a worktop along the east wall of the kitchen, a desk and chair in the office, a workbench and barrels in the garages, and upstairs a bed and a chest in each bedroom with a tub in the bathroom.

Credits

Plan by Courfeyracs, from the original article on minecraft.fr. The block choices and the interior are Blockaria's interpretation of that plan and its photos: the floor plan gives the walls, doors and windows, the photos give the heights and the roofs, and everything else is a proposal.

FAQ

Can I build it in survival?

Yes. Stone, sandstone and spruce are all common; the roof alone takes about a dozen stacks of Spruce Stairs. Only the hedges need Shears and the lawn patches Silk Touch.

How steep is the main roof?

Steeper than 45 degrees: each row rises one full block plus one stair. The layer views show a block and a stair alternating; keep the stairs facing outward as the arrows indicate.

What can I change?

Dark Oak Stairs give a darker roof, Deepslate Bricks a colder wall. The attic under the main roof is empty and can become a fourth bedroom.

How many blocks do you need for the European House?

3365 blocks of 30 types, over 17 layers. The biggest items: 832 × Stone, 741 × Spruce Stairs, 451 × Oak Planks.

How do you place the European House with a command?

Type /place template blockaria:european_house ~ ~ ~ in a world with cheats on. The build appears with its north-west bottom corner at your position.
