Savanna biome in Minecraft
The Savanna is a warm, dry grassland dotted with acacia trees, whose trunks split into branches under flat crowns. It never rains here. With its villages, horses, armadillos and mostly flat terrain, it is a comfortable biome to settle in and the place to collect acacia wood.

Structures in the Savanna
What you find in a Savanna
The ground is covered with dense short grass and plenty of tall grass, dotted with poppies and dandelions. Trees are spread out, one or two per chunk: most of them are acacias, the rest are oaks. An acacia trunk often forks and leans, which makes acacia logs slower to collect than oak, but the orange acacia planks are one of the warmest colors for building. Along rivers and lakes, firefly bushes grow on the banks.
Armadillos and wolf armor
The Savanna is one of the homes of the Armadillo. It rolls into a ball when a player sprints or moves fast nearby, so walk slowly. Use a brush on it to collect an Armadillo Scute without hurting it. Armadillos also shed scutes on their own from time to time. Scutes craft into Wolf Armor, which protects your tamed wolf.
Sheep, pigs, chickens and cows spawn too. In hot biomes like this one, pigs, cows and chickens use their warm variant, with a different look from the temperate animals. Horses are present too, but rarer than in the Plains.
Settling in the Savanna
Savanna villages are built from acacia wood and are a good base for trading. The biome also hosts pillager outposts and the Abandoned Camp, a deserted tent. A Snow Golem melts in this heat, so keep it out of your defenses. The Savanna often borders the Savanna Plateau and the Desert.
