The Savanna Plateau is a raised, flat-topped version of the Savanna, with the same acacias and tall grass spread over high terraces. Its animal life is richer: Llamas and Wolves with a spotted coat spawn here alongside Armadillos and Horses, which makes it a great place to build a ranch with a view.

Structures in the Savanna Plateau
What you find on a Savanna Plateau
The plateau rises in steps above the surrounding land. On top, the vegetation is the same as in the Savanna: thick short grass, tall grass, poppies, dandelions and a scattering of acacias and oaks. Acacia logs are your main wood here. Near water, firefly bushes grow on the edges.
The terraces make great building spots. Flat ground on top, a cliff on the side and a clear view over the lowlands: an ideal place for a lookout or a house. Watch your step at the edges, a fall from the higher terraces hurts.
Llamas, Wolves and Armadillos
This is the only savanna biome where Llamas and Wolves spawn. Wolves take their look from the biome, and savanna biomes give them a spotted coat. Tame one with bones, then protect it with Wolf Armor, made from the scutes of the Armadillos that live on the same plateau. You get the whole set in a single biome.
Llamas are the pack animals of the game. Tame one by mounting it until hearts appear, then put a chest on it. With a lead, the other llamas follow it in a caravan. They spit at wolves and at anyone who hits them, but don't count on them to protect you.
What the plateau lacks
Unlike the Savanna below, the plateau has no villages and no pillager outposts. Mineshafts, ruined portals and trial chambers can still generate underneath. Horses and donkeys are rare, and a Snow Golem melts in the heat.
