Structures in the Bamboo Jungle
A forest of bamboo
Bamboo covers most of the ground in dense groves, and part of it grows on patches of podzol. Above it stand giant jungle trees, which make up most of the trees here, along with jungle bushes and a few large oaks. As in the regular Jungle, melons, vines, grass and ferns fill the gaps.
Walking through the thicket is slow: stalks block your path and your view. A sword breaks bamboo instantly, and breaking the bottom of a stalk brings the whole stalk down, so you can clear a path in seconds.
Pandas and parrots
Pandas are the stars of this biome. They roll around, munch on bamboo and each one has its own personality. To breed two of them, feed them bamboo while bamboo is growing near them. Baby pandas sometimes sneeze, and a sneeze can drop a Slimeball. Parrots and shy ocelots live here too, as in the dense jungle.
Temples, camps and what to craft
A Jungle Pyramid or an Abandoned Camp can generate in the Bamboo Jungle. Back home, bamboo is one of the most useful plants in the game:
- Scaffolding: bamboo and String, perfect for building tall structures.
- Sticks: two bamboo stacked give a Stick, handy when you are short on wood.
- Bamboo wood: nine bamboo make a Block of Bamboo, which you turn into Bamboo Planks.
- Fuel: bamboo burns in a furnace, a cheap way to cook early on.
