How to get Netherite in Minecraft: from ancient debris to full gear
Every netherite item costs 4 Ancient Debris, 4 Gold Ingots and one upgrade template, applied to a diamond item.

The Gold Ingot is smelted from Raw Gold or gold ore, or put together from nine nuggets. Gold makes weak but fast tools and armor, and its real value lies elsewhere: Piglins trade for it in the Nether, and it goes into golden apples, clocks, powered rails and netherite.
It is made with the Crafting Table from Block of Gold (other recipes also exist).
What it does
Drop or hand a gold ingot to an adult piglin and it studies it for a few seconds, then throws you a random item: ender pearls, fire resistance potions, obsidian, quartz, string and more. Wearing at least one piece of golden armor keeps piglins from attacking you on sight.
Eight ingots around an Apple make a Golden Apple, the healing snack of every fight. Four around redstone give a Clock, six with a stick and redstone give six Powered Rails, and two make a Light Weighted Pressure Plate. Four gold ingots with four netherite scrap make a Netherite Ingot, the only way to get one.
Golden tools mine faster than diamond ones but break quickly, and golden armor protects little. A Beacon accepts a gold ingot as payment, an apprentice Cleric buys them, and gold is one of the armor trim colors.
