Rabbit mob in Minecraft
The Rabbit is a small, fast animal hunted mostly for its rare foot, the brewing ingredient of the Potion of Leaping. It breeds with carrots, golden carrots or dandelions, and it will happily eat the carrots in your fields.

Command
/summon minecraft:rabbit ~ ~ ~Catching and breeding rabbits
Rabbits hop away quickly when you approach, which makes them hard to hit with a sword. Holding a carrot, a golden carrot or a dandelion changes that: rabbits come to you instead. Feed two adults to get a baby, and lead the group into a fenced pen where you can reach them.
Wild rabbits also raid farms. When the mobGriefing game rule is on, they nibble mature carrot crops and set them back a growth stage, so fence off your carrot field if rabbits live nearby.
Rabbit's foot, hide and meat
- Rabbit's foot: it only drops when a player kills the rabbit, and not often. Looting raises the chance. Brewed into an awkward potion, it gives the Potion of Leaping, and a cleric villager buys it for emeralds.
- Rabbit hide: four hides craft into one leather, a good fallback when you have no cows. A leatherworker villager also buys hides.
- Meat: cooked rabbit, a baked potato, a carrot, a mushroom and a bowl make rabbit stew, one of the most filling foods in the game.
Coat colors and where they come from
A rabbit's coat depends on where it spawns. In snowy biomes, rabbits are white or black and white, which hides them in the snow; in the desert they are gold; elsewhere they are brown, black or salt and pepper. Rabbits also walk on powder snow without sinking.
A seventh, hostile variant, the Killer Bunny, never spawns naturally: you only get it with commands, and it attacks players and wolves.
Who hunts rabbits
Foxes and wild wolves chase and kill rabbits. If you are looking for rabbits in a taiga full of foxes, you may find mostly rabbit hide and feet lying around.

In 13 Overworld biomes, for example Desert, Ice Spikes and Snowy Plains.
What does a Rabbit drop?
Rabbit Hide, Raw Rabbit and Rabbit's Foot. Only when killed by a player: Rabbit's Foot.
