Flower Forest biome in Minecraft

A carpet of flowers

Eleven kinds of small flowers grow here: Dandelion, Poppy, Allium, Azure Bluet, the four tulips (red, orange, white and pink), Oxeye Daisy, Cornflower and Lily of the Valley. They are not mixed at random. Each species fills its own band, so as you walk you cross a strip of tulips, then a strip of alliums, then cornflowers. Tall flowers such as Lilac, Rose Bush and Peony are also more common than in a regular Forest.

What to do with all those flowers

• Dyes. Each of these flowers crafts into a dye, so a single trip gives you enough colours for wool, glass, terracotta and banners.
• Suspicious Stew. Combine a flower with a red mushroom, a brown mushroom and a bowl to make a Suspicious Stew. It gives a short effect that depends on the flower.
• Bees. Trees here are ten times more likely to carry a Bee Nest than in a normal Forest. Put a campfire under the nest before you collect honey or honeycomb, so the bees stay calm.

Trees, animals and building

The trees are the same as in a Forest, oak, large oak and birch, but more spread out, which leaves wide clearings. Rabbits hop between the flowers, while wolves don't spawn here. The biome even has its own music track. If you want a base with a view, a Flower Forest is hard to beat: the open ground is easy to build on, and the flowers come back in every new chunk you explore. Light the clearings well, though, because Creepers and Zombies spawn here at night like anywhere else.
