Pale Garden biome in Minecraft
The Pale Garden is a grey, silent forest of pale oaks hung with moss, found next to Dark Forests. No animals spawn there, no music plays, and some trees hide a Creaking Heart that brings a Creaking to life at night. It is also the natural home of eyeblossoms and resin.

Structures in the Pale Garden
A forest without colour
Pale oaks grow here like dark oaks, with thick trunks and wide crowns, but their wood and leaves are grey. Pale Hanging Moss dangles from the leaves, Pale Moss Carpet covers parts of the ground and patches of Pale Moss Block replace the grass. The sky and fog turn grey, the water looks dull and the background music goes silent. No passive animal spawns: no cows, no sheep, no pigs. Only hostile mobs come out at night.
The Creaking and its heart
About one pale oak in ten has a Creaking Heart built into its trunk. At night the heart wakes up and spawns a Creaking close to players. A Creaking only moves when nobody is looking at it, and hitting it doesn't kill it. To stop it for good, break the heart it came from. Keep your eyes on the Creaking while you search, so it stays frozen in place.
Breaking the heart gives Resin Clumps, unless you use Silk Touch, which keeps the heart itself. Smelt resin clumps into resin bricks to build in a warm orange colour.
Eyeblossoms and pale oak wood
The only flower here is the eyeblossom. It stays closed during the day and opens at night. A Closed Eyeblossom crafts into gray dye, an Open Eyeblossom into orange dye. A Pale Oak Log gives very light, almost white planks, and pale oak leaves drop the Pale Oak Sapling. Like the Dark Forest, the Pale Garden can also hold a Woodland Mansion.

Pale Garden — FAQ
Why is there no music in the Pale Garden?
The biome turns the music volume down to zero, so the game stays silent while you are inside. You only hear ambient sounds, such as the eerie noises of the hanging moss.
Can a Creaking come back after you break its heart?
No. Once its Creaking Heart is broken, the Creaking crumbles and that heart is gone. Other hearts in the forest can still spawn their own Creaking at night.
Which mobs spawn in the Pale Garden?
Spider, Skeleton, Creeper, Slime, Zombie, Enderman, Zombie Villager, Witch, Bat and Glow Squid. Creaking: Spawns at night from a Creaking Heart generated in Pale Oak trees.
Which structures generate in the Pale Garden?
Abandoned Camp, Woodland Mansion, Mineshaft, Ruined Portal, Stronghold and Trial Chambers.
How do you find the Pale Garden?
