Creaking mob in Minecraft
The Creaking is the wooden stalker of the Pale Garden. It only moves when nobody is looking at it, and your weapons cannot kill it while its Creaking Heart survives. To get rid of it, find the heart hidden in a pale oak trunk and break it.

Command
/summon minecraft:creaking ~ ~ ~Where the Creaking comes from
Every Creaking is tied to a Creaking Heart, a block set inside the trunk of a pale oak tree in the Pale Garden. During the day the heart sleeps. At night it wakes up and summons its Creaking nearby, one per heart. At dawn the Creaking goes away again. That is why a Pale Garden is calm in daylight and dangerous after dark.
It moves when you do not look
A Creaking freezes as soon as a player looks at it, and it twitches into motion again the moment you look away. In practice:
- Keep it in view. Walking backwards while you watch it is the safest way to cross a Pale Garden at night.
- Watch your back. In a group of trees, the one you are not looking at is the one getting closer.
- Do not stop to mine or build with your eyes elsewhere. That is when it reaches you.
Why your sword does not kill it
/execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s -2095.8 102 -2060.5 71.6 7While its heart is intact, a Creaking takes no damage. Hitting it does one useful thing: a trail of particles flows from the Creaking to its heart. Follow it to find the right trunk.
Break the Creaking Heart, ideally with an axe, and the Creaking crumbles on the spot. You can also break the heart during the day, when there is no Creaking around, to make that part of the garden safe for good.
What the Creaking Heart gives you
A broken Creaking Heart drops Resin Clumps. Nine clumps make a Block of Resin, and smelted clumps give resin bricks for building. Mined with Silk Touch, the heart drops itself instead. You can also craft one: a Block of Resin between two Pale Oak Logs.
The Creaking itself drops nothing. All the loot is in the heart.
