Zoglin mob in Minecraft
The Zoglin is what a Hoglin becomes outside the Nether: an undead, rotting beast that attacks almost every creature around it. It cannot be bred and no longer fears warped fungus. You usually meet one only after a Hoglin has gone through a portal, by accident or on purpose.

How much damage Zoglin deals
Damage to a player without armor, by world difficulty. 1 ♥ = 2 damage points.
// Armor, Protection and Resistance reduce these values. Base values read from the game code (26.3).
Where to find Zoglin
Doesn’t spawn naturally in a biome: it comes from a structure, a spawner, a block or an event.

Command
/summon minecraft:zoglin ~ ~ ~How a Hoglin turns into a Zoglin
A Hoglin that ends up in the Overworld or the End starts shaking, and about 15 seconds later it turns into a Zoglin. A baby Hoglin becomes a baby Zoglin. Zoglins never spawn naturally, so every one of them was once a Hoglin that left the Nether. There is no way to turn it back.
Why it is worse than a Hoglin
- It attacks nearly everything. Not just players: villagers, animals and most other mobs nearby. Only creepers and other Zoglins are left alone.
- Nothing scares it. Warped fungus, Nether portals and respawn anchors, which keep Hoglins away, have no effect on it.
- It cannot be bred. Crimson fungus does nothing, so a Zoglin is the end of a hoglin farm.
- It drops only rotten flesh, no porkchops and no leather.
It keeps the Hoglin's size and its tusk attack, which launches you into the air. Out in the open that knockback is less deadly than over Nether lava, but it still sends you flying off cliffs and into ravines.
How to fight a Zoglin
- Use Smite. It is undead, so Smite deals extra damage.
- Turn potions around. As with every undead mob, a Splash Potion of Healing hurts it, while Poison and Regeneration have no effect at all.
- Do not wait for sunrise. Unlike a zombie, it does not burn in daylight.
- Raise a shield when it charges, and fight with solid ground behind you.
Keeping hoglins in the Nether
Most Zoglins are accidents: a Hoglin follows a player into a portal, or walks into one near a farm. Build your hoglin pens well away from any portal, and close the pen properly: a Hoglin that slips out and wanders through a portal comes back as a problem.
