Bogged mob in Minecraft
The Bogged is the mossy skeleton of swamps and Trial Chambers. It shoots like a Skeleton, but its arrows poison you. It is a little more fragile, and you can shear the mushrooms off its head.

How much damage Bogged deals
Damage to a player without armor, by world difficulty. 1 ♥ = 2 damage points.
Base 2, multiplied by the projectile’s speed: the faster it flies, the harder it hits.
What else changes with difficulty
- Aim gets more accurate as difficulty rises (spread 10 / 6 / 2)
- Shoots every 3.5 s on Easy, 3.5 s on Normal, 2.5 s on Hard
// Armor, Protection and Resistance reduce these values. Base values read from the game code (26.3).

Command
/summon minecraft:bogged ~ ~ ~Where you meet the Bogged
The Bogged spawns at night in Swamps and Mangrove Swamps, alongside ordinary Skeletons. You meet far more of them in Trial Chambers, where they come out of trial spawners in waves.
Poison arrows
A Bogged fights like any skeleton: it keeps its distance, moves sideways and shoots on sight. Each arrow that lands also poisons you. Poison does not kill on its own, it stops at half a heart, but it keeps draining you while the next arrows come in. In a Trial Chamber with several Bogged at once, that adds up fast.
- Block with a shield. A blocked arrow does not poison you.
- Carry a Milk Bucket. It clears Poison at once, which matters more here than against a plain Skeleton.
- Bring wolves. They attack the Bogged like any skeleton.
- Use Smite. The Bogged is undead, and it has a bit less health than a Skeleton.
Like other skeletons, it burns in direct sunlight unless it wears a helmet. Swamp trees give it plenty of shade, so do not count on the morning.
Shearing a Bogged
Use Shears on a Bogged and it drops two mushrooms, each one a Brown Mushroom or a Red Mushroom. Its mossy head loses them at the same time. It does not calm it down: it is still hostile afterwards. Shearing one is still a handy way to get mushrooms early, for stew or a Fermented Spider Eye.
Drops
The Bogged drops bones and arrows like a Skeleton. When a player kills it, it can also drop an Arrow of Poison. Poison arrows are good against mobs that are not immune to Poison, but they do nothing to undead mobs or spiders. Making them yourself takes a lingering Potion of Poison.

Bogged — FAQ
What is the difference between a Bogged and a Skeleton?
The Bogged shoots poison arrows, has a bit less health, can be sheared for mushrooms and spawns mostly in swamps and Trial Chambers.
What do you get from shearing a Bogged?
Two mushrooms, each either brown or red. The Bogged stays hostile after shearing.
Can Bogged poison kill you?
Poison alone stops at half a heart, but the arrows themselves still deal damage. Use a shield and keep a Milk Bucket.
Where does the Bogged spawn?
In Mangrove Swamp and Swamp.
What does a Bogged drop?
Arrow, Bone and Tipped Arrow. Only when killed by a player: Tipped Arrow. It also drops the weapon or armor it spawned with (8.5% chance per piece) and any items it picked up off the ground.
