Command
/summon minecraft:trader_llama ~ ~ ~Where Trader Llamas come from
Trader Llamas do not spawn on their own. Each Wandering Trader arrives with two of them, tied to him with leads. Apart from the decorated carpet, a Trader Llama looks and behaves like an ordinary llama.
The trader's bodyguards
Trader Llamas protect their owner. When a mob or a player hurts the Wandering Trader, the llamas turn on the attacker and spit at it. The spit does little damage, but it can be annoying while you fight off zombies near the trader. They also react when you hit them directly, like normal llamas.
How to keep a Trader Llama
When the Wandering Trader disappears, Trader Llamas that are still tied to him disappear too. A llama stays in the world if any of these is true:
- You put it on your own lead or tie it to a fence post.
- You tamed it. Ride it until it stops throwing you off and hearts appear, as with any llama.
- You are riding it when the trader leaves.
Once it is yours, it works like any tamed llama. Give it a chest to carry items and use hay bales or wheat to heal it or lure it. Lead one llama and others nearby follow it in a caravan, which makes them good pack animals for long trips.
Drops
A Trader Llama drops leather like a normal llama. Killing it is rarely worth it: you lose a free pack animal, and the trader is easier to keep safe with his guards around.

Trader Llama — FAQ
Do Trader Llamas despawn?
Yes, with the Wandering Trader, as long as they are tied to him. Tame one, lead it away or tie it to a fence and it stays.
Can you tame a Trader Llama?
Yes. Ride it like a normal llama until hearts appear. You can then add a chest to carry items.
Why are the llamas spitting at me?
You or a mob hurt the Wandering Trader, or you hit a llama. Trader Llamas defend him by spitting at the attacker.
Where does the Trader Llama spawn?
Only with a Wandering Trader, who arrives leading two of them. They never spawn on their own.
What does a Trader Llama drop?
Leather. It also drops anything a player put on it and its chest with everything in it.
