Raid Omen effect in Minecraft

Raid Omen is the countdown before a raid. It replaces Bad Omen as soon as you enter a village, and when it runs out, a raid begins there. Until then you can still prepare, or call the whole thing off.

How it starts

Drink an Ominous Bottle for Bad Omen, then walk into a village. It does not have to be a generated one: a base where your villagers live and sleep counts too. Bad Omen turns into Raid Omen, and the countdown runs.

Prepare during the countdown

Ring the Bell: villagers run indoors, and once the raid starts, raiders near the bell are revealed with Glowing.
Make sure the Iron Golem is around; build a second one if you can.
Bring a shield, a bow or crossbow, food and Golden Apples.

Waves start with Pillagers and grow to include Vindicators, Witches, Evokers and Ravagers. Evokers are the priority: their Vexes and fangs hit hard, and each one drops a Totem of Undying.

Calling it off

A Milk Bucket drunk during the countdown removes Raid Omen, and no raid happens. Once the raid has started, milk changes nothing: you have to win or lose. Winning gives Hero of the Village.
