Saturation effect in Minecraft
Saturation refills your food bar and your saturation very quickly. In Survival it comes from Suspicious Stew made with a Dandelion, a Golden Dandelion or a Blue Orchid: the effect lasts only an instant, but it still restores a lot of food.

Every moment of the effect adds food points and saturation, the hidden reserve that is used up before your food bar drops. The stew version lasts only a fraction of a second, yet one bowl fills a large part of an empty bar, on top of the stew's own food value.
How to make the stew
Combine a Bowl, a Red Mushroom, a Brown Mushroom and a Dandelion, a Golden Dandelion or a Blue Orchid to get Suspicious Stew. Dandelions grow almost everywhere; Blue Orchids grow in the Swamp. Stews found in Shipwrecks or sold by farmers can also carry Saturation, but you cannot choose their effect.
When to use it
Suspicious Stew does not stack, so it is a poor everyday food to carry around. It is best as an emergency refill, when you need a full bar fast. A full bar with saturation left is also what makes your health regenerate quickly, so a bowl before a fight helps you heal during it.
It is the opposite of Hunger, which drains your bar faster. For regular food, a Golden Carrot or Steak gives more saturation per slot.
