How to get, grow and ride a Happy Ghast in Minecraft
Hatch a Dried Ghast in water, raise the ghastling with Snowballs and craft a harness to fly a Happy Ghast with up to four players.
The Happy Ghast is a friendly ghast that can carry up to four players through the air. It never spawns on its own: you grow it from a Dried Ghast block. Once it is an adult and wears a harness, it becomes one of the best ways to travel and to build high up.
// Experience drops only when a player kills it. Speeds are the game’s internal values, not blocks per second.
Doesn’t spawn naturally in a biome: it comes from a structure, a spawner, a block or an event.
Nothing from its loot table.
Properties set in the game files.
Items it eats, follows or breeds with.
Items to use on it and what happens.
Grows from Items it can wear, and items you use on it.

/summon minecraft:happy_ghast ~ ~ ~Everything starts with a Dried Ghast. You can craft one from eight ghast tears around a block of soul sand, or get one by bartering gold with piglins. Place it and pour water on it with a water bucket so that it is waterlogged. It slowly soaks up the water, changes appearance as it rehydrates and finally turns into a Ghastling, the baby form of the Happy Ghast.
A Dried Ghast that is not in water does not progress. Water cannot be placed in the Nether, so do this in the Overworld or the End.
A Ghastling is too small to ride. It grows into an adult on its own over time, and feeding it snowballs speeds that up. Snowballs and harnesses also attract it: it floats after any player holding one, which is the easiest way to bring it where you want.
Craft a harness with three leather in the top row, then glass, wool and glass below. The wool sets its color, and there is a harness for each of the 16 colors. Use the harness on an adult Happy Ghast to put it on, then use the ghast again to climb aboard.
Despite the family resemblance, the Happy Ghast has nothing in common with the hostile Ghast: it never attacks, shoots nothing and lives in the Overworld with you. It cannot be bred, so every new one starts again from a Dried Ghast.

Four: one player steers it and up to three more ride along as passengers. It needs a harness first.
No. Every Happy Ghast comes from a Dried Ghast placed in water, which turns into a Ghastling and then grows up.
It only rehydrates while it is waterlogged. Make sure it sits in water, and remember that water cannot be placed in the Nether.
It doesn’t spawn naturally in biomes.
Nothing from its loot table, but it drops anything a player put on it.
