Potion of Wind Charging how to brew it in Minecraft
A Potion of Wind Charging does nothing while you are alive. Its effect, Wind Charged, triggers on death: the affected mob or player bursts in a gust of wind, like a Wind Charge, and knocks back everything around. It is a combat potion meant to be thrown at enemies.
Brew it step by step
Put Blaze Powder in the fuel slot and up to 3 bottles at the bottom, then add each ingredient at the top.

What Wind Charged does
When the affected entity dies, it releases a wind burst that knocks back everything around it.

Splash a group of mobs with it, then start fighting. Every kill releases a wind burst that throws the surrounding mobs away. The burst breaks no blocks, but like a Wind Charge it can push open doors and trapdoors and flip levers in its range.
That knockback is a weapon in itself. Fighting near a cliff, a ravine or lava, each kill can send the rest of the group over the edge, where the fall does the work for you. On a narrow bridge, it clears the way.
Good uses
- Crowd control. Thin out a group without being surrounded, since each kill pushes the next attackers away.
- PvP. Drink it yourself before a duel: if you lose, your death blasts your opponent away, which can give a teammate a chance.
- Combos with height. Pair it with a Potion of Slow Falling for yourself if you fight on high ground, so the bursts do not take you down with them.
Pitfalls
- It scatters your loot and your targets. In a mob farm or a kill room, it pushes mobs out of reach. Keep it away from your own farms.
- The burst hits you too. If you kill an affected mob at point-blank range, expect to be thrown back as well.
- No long or level II version. Redstone and Glowstone have no effect on it.
Getting Breeze Rods
The ingredient is a Breeze Rod, dropped by the Breeze inside Trial Chambers. The same rods craft into Wind Charges, so decide how many you want to keep for the potion.
It belongs to the same group as the Potion of Weaving, the Potion of Oozing and the Potion of Infestation: all four are meant to be put on enemies, and they react when the target is hit or dies.
