Potion of Weaving how to brew it in Minecraft
A Potion of Weaving gives the Weaving effect: when the affected creature dies, two or three Cobwebs appear around the spot. While the effect lasts, it also moves through cobwebs about twice as fast as normal. Throw it at enemies to turn each kill into a trap for the next one.
Brew it step by step
Put Blaze Powder in the fuel slot and up to 3 bottles at the bottom, then add each ingredient at the top.

What Weaving does
When the affected entity dies, it leaves cobwebs around it, and it moves faster through cobwebs.

- Against a group. Splash a crowd of mobs, then fight. Each kill leaves webs behind that slow down the mobs walking in next, so you face them one at a time.
- Holding a corridor. A lingering cloud at a chokepoint means the first mobs to fall block the way for the others.
- PvP. Drink it yourself: if you die, your killer ends up stuck in cobwebs, and while you live you move through webs faster than they do.
The cobweb bonus
A Cobweb usually brings you almost to a stop. With Weaving, you cross it roughly twice as fast sideways and climb or fall through it much more freely. That helps in places full of webs, such as an abandoned mineshaft with its Cave Spiders, or in a PvP arena where your opponent placed webs.
Pitfalls
- Mobs need the right game rule. A mob only leaves cobwebs if the game rule that allows destructive mob actions is on, which is the default. Players always leave them.
- Webs can block you too. The cobwebs land on your path of attack. Carry a Shears or a sword to cut through quickly.
- No long or level II version. Redstone and Glowstone have no effect.
The ingredient: a Cobweb
You brew it with a whole Cobweb, not with String. Breaking a web with a sword only gives String: use Shears, or a tool with Silk Touch, to collect the block itself. Mineshafts are the easiest place to gather them in bulk. Like the Potion of Oozing and the Potion of Infestation, it is a potion you put on others rather than on yourself.
