Wind Charge item in Minecraft

Added in 1.21 Stack size: 64 In 2 tutorials ↓

A Wind Charge is a ball of compressed wind that you throw: it bursts on impact and blows away the entities around it, including you. It is made from a Breeze Rod, the drop of the Breeze.

It is made with the Crafting Table from Breeze Rod.

What it does

Throw it at your feet as you jump and the burst launches you high into the air. You only take fall damage for the part of the fall below the burst, which makes it a safe way to climb. It is also the usual way to gain height before a Mace smash attack.

Thrown at mobs, it pushes them back and can knock them off a ledge. The burst also opens and closes doors, trapdoors and fence gates that are not made of iron, flips levers and presses buttons, so it can trigger mechanisms from a distance.

One Breeze Rod crafts four Wind Charges. There is a short cooldown of half a second between throws.
