Crimson Forest biome in Minecraft
The Crimson Forest is a dense red forest of huge fungi growing on crimson nylium, under a dark red fog. It is the best place in the Nether to find food, since hoglins live here, and a source of fireproof wood and soft light blocks. Piglins hunt here too, so wear some gold.

Structures in the Crimson Forest
What grows in a Crimson Forest
The ground is Crimson Nylium, a red layer over netherrack covered with Crimson Roots and small Crimson Fungi. Huge fungi rise on trunks of Crimson Stem, under caps of Nether Wart Blocks with glowing Shroomlight tucked inside. Weeping Vines hang from the caps and the ceiling, and you can climb them. Red spores drift through the air.
Hoglins: food and danger
The Hoglin is the best food source in the Nether: it drops Raw Porkchops and leather. It is also aggressive, and its charge throws you into the air. Hoglins come in groups of three or four, so wear armor before you hunt. They flee from the Warped Fungus, as well as from nether portals and respawn anchors, so a few fungi placed around you or your base keep them away. A few Warped Fungi grow in the forest itself, mixed into the red vegetation.
Piglins spawn here as well. They attack you unless you wear at least one piece of gold armor. Zombified piglins also appear, but rarely.
Wood and light for builders
Crimson Stems turn into planks, doors, trapdoors and every usual wooden block, and none of them burn. Shroomlight is a soft light source that fits well in organic builds. To grow your own huge fungus, plant a Crimson Fungus on Crimson Nylium and use Bone Meal on it. Bone Meal on netherrack next to nylium spreads the nylium. The netherrack under the forest also holds the usual Nether ores, Ancient Debris included.

Can you farm hoglins?
Yes. Two adult hoglins breed when you feed them Crimson Fungus. Keep the farm in the Nether: in the Overworld, hoglins turn into zoglins.
Do Crimson Forest planks burn?
No. Crimson planks and every block made from them are fireproof, which makes them a safe wood for building near lava.
