Released on 9 December 2025, Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.11 is Mounts of Mayhem, the fourth game drop of 2025. It adds the spear, a tiered weapon in seven materials, the rideable Nautilus and the Zombie Nautilus, plus two desert mobs: the Parched and the Camel Husk. Zombie Horses now spawn naturally, and Netherite Horse Armor joins the game.

Nautilus and Zombie Nautilus
The neutral Nautilus spawns in every ocean and can be bred, tamed and ridden, with a Camel-like dash. The Zombie Nautilus carries a Drowned holding a Trident, and a Coral variant spawns in Warm Oceans.

Parched and Camel Husk
Both spawn in deserts at light level 0. The Parched does not burn in sunlight and fires Arrows of Weakness; the Camel Husk carries a Husk holding a spear and a Parched.

Zombie Horse
Now spawns naturally, with 25 health points (12.5 hearts), and can be tamed and healed with Red Mushrooms. In plains and savannas it can appear with a Zombie rider holding an Iron Spear.

What changed
GameplayHorses, Mules, Donkeys and Camels no longer sink while ridden by a player. Skeleton Horses still do.
GraphicsFast, Fancy and Fabulous! become presets in a reorganised Video Settings screen, with a new Preset slider and texture filtering (RGSS or Anisotropic up to 8x).
GraphicsChunks now fade in as they load, and all blocks use mipmaps when mipmapping is on.
ControlsDebug keys, the GUI toggle and the spectator shader toggle can now be rebound.
