Soul Speed enchantment in Minecraft
Soul Speed makes you much faster on Soul Sand and Soul Soil: about 40% faster than normal walking at level I and about 60% at level III, and Soul Sand stops slowing you down. It is a treasure enchantment for boots, found only through Piglins and Bastion Remnants.

Soul Speed only works on Soul Sand and Soul Soil, in any dimension. In practice, that means the Soul Sand Valley, where the ground is covered with both, and the soul sand patches you meet across the Nether. Jumping does not cancel the bonus, so you can sprint-jump across a valley at full speed.
Outside soul blocks, the enchantment does nothing at all.
The wear on your boots
While you run on soul blocks, your boots lose durability on top of the usual wear. The chance is the same at every level, so Soul Speed III costs no more than Soul Speed I. Off soul blocks, it costs nothing. Unbreaking and Mending make the wear a non-issue.
How to get it
- Bartering gold ingots with Piglins: they sometimes give a Soul Speed book or Iron Boots that already have it.
- Chests in a Bastion Remnant, which can hold books and Golden Boots with Soul Speed.
Golden Boots are a nice bonus: wearing a piece of gold armor keeps Piglins, though not Piglin Brutes, from attacking you. Villagers never sell Soul Speed. Combine it with Feather Falling and Protection; the best boots enchantments page gives the full set.
