Iron Shovel item in Minecraft
The Iron Shovel is a shovel, the digging tool for soft ground: dirt, grass, sand, gravel, clay, snow and soul sand. It also flattens grass into paths and puts out campfires. Made from an iron ingot and two sticks, it lasts 250 uses and clears sand and gravel quickly.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Stick and Iron Ingot.
What it does
With a shovel, loose blocks come out several times faster than by hand. It is also the only tool that turns snow into Snowballs: breaking snow without one gives nothing.
Used on the top of a grass block, dirt, podzol, coarse dirt, mycelium or rooted dirt with air above it, a shovel flattens the block into a Dirt Path, the classic village road. Used on a lit Campfire, it puts the fire out.
Shovels take Efficiency, Unbreaking, Silk Touch (to keep grass blocks, mycelium or snow blocks) and Fortune, which raises the chance of flint from gravel.
