Diorite block in Minecraft
Diorite is a speckled white and gray stone that appears in large pockets underground and on mountainsides. It mines like stone and drops itself, and it is the stepping stone between cobblestone, quartz, andesite and granite.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Cobblestone and 2 × Nether Quartz. It is mined with a pickaxe.
What it does
Two cobblestone and two nether quartz in a diagonal pattern make two diorite. Diorite with a cobblestone makes two Andesite, and diorite with a quartz makes one Granite, so with quartz from the Nether you can produce all three stones from cobblestone.
Four diorite make four Polished Diorite, a smoother and brighter version, and both have slabs, stairs and, for diorite, walls. A Stonecutter turns diorite into any of these without loss.
Its bright, speckled look makes it useful for light floors and contrast in builds. A journeyman Mason buys diorite for emeralds.
