Alternate Polished Diorite and Polished Deepslate.

Polished Diorite is Diorite turned a smooth white. Polishing removes the speckles of a raw stone and gives a clean, even surface. All polished stones work the same; the Polished Andesite page explains them.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 4 × Diorite (other recipes also exist). It is mined with a pickaxe.
4 × Diorite → 4 × Polished Diorite
// Slots with several items cycle through every accepted option.
Alternate Polished Diorite and Polished Deepslate.
At the Crafting Table: 4 × Diorite give 4 × Polished Diorite. At the Stonecutter: 1 × Diorite gives 1 × Polished Diorite. Mining the block drops it. Sold by Villager: Mason (Journeyman).
It is a cleaner, smoother version of a raw stone for neat floors and trims. It is an ingredient in 2 recipes, made at the Crafting Table and Stonecutter; for example Polished Diorite Slab and Polished Diorite Stairs.
The fastest tool is the pickaxe.
No difference: the Stonecutter turns 1 × Diorite into 1 × Polished Diorite, the same rate as the crafting recipe (4 × Diorite for 4).
Placed under a Note Block, Polished Diorite gives the Bass drum sound.
