Generates underground with bands of sulfur and cinnabar and pools of Potent Sulfur. Sulfur Springs, in four sizes from Small to Extra Large, generate above it.
Minecraft 26.2 “Chaos Cubed”
Released on 16 June 2026, Minecraft Java Edition 26.2 is the Chaos Cubed drop. It adds the Sulfur Caves biome, the Sulfur Cube, a mob that absorbs blocks and takes on a matching form, and new sulfur and cinnabar block sets. It also brings experimental Vulkan rendering and an in-game Friends List.

Sulfur Cube
Hold a block and interact with it: the cube absorbs the block and takes a matching physical form, such as Bouncy, Sticky or Explosive. A large cube can be caught in a Bucket, and small ones grow when fed Slimeballs.

Geysers and spikes
Potent Sulfur under water forms a geyser over a Magma Block (random eruptions) or Lava (continuous ones), and its gas causes Nausea. Sulfur Spikes grow as stalactites and stalagmites, and falling stalactites deal damage.

Friends List
A new Friends List opens from the title screen and pause menu (default key: O). It shows whether friends are online, on LAN, in a world, on a Realm or on a server.
