Minecraft 1.13.2

Released on 22 October 2018, Minecraft Java Edition 1.13.2 is the final release of Update Aquatic (1.13). It speeds up world upgrades and startup and fixes 9 bugs, including a spawn egg exploit that allowed arbitrary command execution. Mojang announced the first 1.14 snapshot for two days later.

Released 22 Oct 2018

Key takeaways

  • Performance: faster world upgrades and startup, plus better performance for Turtle pathfinding and mob spawning.
  • Security: spawn eggs now check that the entity is valid, which closes an arbitrary command execution exploit (MC-136759).
  • Oceans: Update Aquatic added coral reefs, Shipwrecks, Ocean Ruins, icebergs and several new ocean biomes.
  • New mobs: dolphins, turtles, tropical fish, the Drowned and the Phantom.
  • New systems: swimming, waterlogged blocks, data packs and the Trident.

Headline features

Mob

Dolphins, turtles and the Drowned

Dolphins lead you to treasure if you feed them fish, and turtles lay eggs on beaches. The Drowned live in oceans and rivers and drop Tridents.

Items

Trident and Conduit

The Trident is a melee and ranged weapon. A Heart of the Sea and 8 Nautilus Shells craft the Conduit, which makes life underwater easier.

Blocks

Coral and ocean blocks

Coral, Coral Blocks and Coral Fans grow in reefs with Kelp, Seagrass and Sea Pickles. Magma Blocks or Soul Sand create Bubble Columns.
