Dungeon chest loot for a player
/loot give @p loot minecraft:chests/simple_dungeonThe nearest player receives one roll of the dungeon chest table.

/loot rolls a loot table and sends the result to players, a container, specific slots or the ground. The loot can come from a table ID, from a mob's drops, from breaking a block with a given tool, or from fishing, without anything actually dying or breaking.

Fill in the fields, then copy the command.
Command generatorloot reads a table directly, such as minecraft:chests/simple_dungeon.kill rolls the drops of an entity. The entity stays alive.mine simulates breaking the block at a position with a tool, so Silk Touch or Fortune on that tool change the result. The block stays in place.fish rolls a fishing table at a position, with a tool.give fills inventories, insert adds the items to a container such as a Chest or a Barrel, spawn drops them as item entities at a position, and replace writes them into slots, starting at slot and covering count slots.
Table IDs follow the folders of the game data: chests/, entities/, blocks/ and gameplay/. Every run is random, so the same command gives different items. Structure chests have their own tables, for example chests/ancient_city for the Ancient City. For one fixed item, /give or /item is simpler.

No. It only rolls the loot table of that entity and sends the items to the destination. The mob is not hurt.
They mirror the loot_table folder of the game data, for example minecraft:chests/simple_dungeon or minecraft:entities/zombie. Data packs can add their own.
Type it in the chat with cheats on: /loot give <players> (fish|kill|loot|mine).
