Small End Islands biome in Minecraft
Small End Islands is the biome of open void around the outer End islands. Its only land is scattered islets of End Stone floating in the dark. There is little to find on them, but they serve as stepping stones and landmarks when you travel between the large islands.

What the biome looks like
Most of this biome is empty void beyond the End Barrens. Its only feature is a small floating islet of End Stone, placed in about one chunk out of fourteen, sometimes two at a time. The islets float between Y 55 and Y 70, roughly at the level of the larger islands, so you can often see them from the edge of the End Highlands and its neighbors.
What you can do with them
There are no plants, no ores and no structures here. An Enderman may spawn on the larger islets, and that is all the life you will see. Their use is practical: they are natural resting points when you bridge or fly across the void, and a quiet base for a build with nothing around it. Mine End Stone here if you need some, since it resists explosions better than ordinary stone.
Getting around
An Elytra with Firework Rockets is the easiest way to hop from islet to islet. Without one, throw Ender Pearls over short gaps and bridge the longer ones. Sneak near the edges of each islet: the void below is deadly.
