Fireworks and rockets for elytra in Minecraft
Craft rockets from 1 Paper and 1 to 3 Gunpowder, open your elytra in mid-air and use a rocket:

Elytra are wings that you wear in the chest slot to glide through the air. Combined with Firework Rockets, they let you fly, which makes them one of the best rewards of the End.
Jump off something, then press jump again while falling to spread the wings. You steer by looking around: diving gains speed, pulling up trades speed for height. Lighting a Firework Rocket in mid-glide pushes you forward and lets you climb, so you can fly across the world.
Elytra wear out while you glide, but they never break completely: at the last point of durability they stop working until repaired. Repair them at an Anvil with Phantom Membranes or another pair of Elytra, or enchant them with Unbreaking and Mending.
They cannot be crafted. The only pair in each End ship hangs in an item frame, in the End City of the outer End islands, guarded by a Shulker. Hitting a wall at high speed hurts, so watch your speed when landing.
