Sugar comes from Sugar Cane, one per cane, or from a honey bottle, which gives three. It is a baking ingredient for cakes and pumpkin pies, and in a brewing stand it gives potions of swiftness.
It is made with the Crafting Table from Honey Bottle (other recipes also exist).
What it does
Two sugar go into a Cake, with milk, wheat and an egg, and one into a Pumpkin Pie with a pumpkin and an egg. Sugar also turns a spider eye and a brown mushroom into a Fermented Spider Eye, the ingredient that reverses potion effects.
Brewed into an awkward potion, sugar makes a Potion of Swiftness, which you can lengthen with redstone or strengthen with glowstone. It is one of the cheapest potion ingredients, since sugar cane farms are easy to build.
Horses, donkeys and mules eat sugar: it heals them a little and makes untamed ones easier to tame. Witches sometimes drop it.
