Raw Beef item in Minecraft
Raw Beef is the meat of Cows and mooshrooms, one to three pieces each. Cooked into steak, it is one of the best everyday foods, which is why a cow pen is often the first farm of a base.
It cannot be crafted; it can be found in chests.
What it does
Raw, it restores three hunger points with little saturation. Cooked in a furnace, a smoker or on a campfire, it becomes Steak, which restores eight with very high saturation, the same as a cooked porkchop. A cow killed while burning drops steak directly.
Cows give both beef and leather, breed with wheat and can be milked with a bucket, so a small pen covers food, books and milk at once. Mooshrooms drop beef too, along with their mushroom stew.
As meat, raw beef feeds and heals tamed wolves without any risk. A journeyman Butcher buys it for emeralds.
