After a smash attack with the mace, which needs a fall of at least 1.5 blocks, a gust like a wind charge bursts around you and throws you upward. Higher levels throw you higher. The gust does not break blocks, and it does not trigger while you fly in Creative mode.
The loop is simple: fall, smash, bounce, smash again. A successful smash cancels the fall damage, but a miss does not, so wear Feather Falling boots or keep a water bucket at hand.
Where to get it
Only from the rare reward pool of an ominous vault in the Trial Chambers, which you open with an ominous trial key. It always comes as a Wind Burst I book. The enchanting table, librarians and fishing never give it. For Wind Burst III you need four books: combine two level I books into a II, twice, then the two II books into a III on an anvil.
Combinations
Wind Burst has no exclusivity. With Density, every bounce sets up a bigger smash. The best mace enchantments build is Density V, Wind Burst III, Fire Aspect II, Unbreaking III and Mending.
