Respawn where you stand
/spawnpointSets your own spawn point to your current position.

/spawnpoint sets where a player respawns after dying, in place of a bed or a respawn anchor. Without arguments it uses your current position. Map makers use it for checkpoints, and server owners to send players back to a hub.
/spawnpoint [<targets> [<pos> [<rotation>]]]| Argument | Expects | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| targetsoptional | Player selectorone or several | Players whose spawn point changes: @s, @p, @a or a name. Defaults to you. |
| posoptional | Block coordinates (x y z) | Block position of the new spawn point, x y z or ~ ~ ~. Defaults to your position. |
| rotationoptional | Rotation (yaw pitch) | Direction faced on respawn, yaw then pitch in degrees. Yaw 180 faces north. |
/spawnpointSets your own spawn point to your current position.
/spawnpoint @a 0 64 0All online players will respawn at 0 64 0 in the current dimension.
/spawnpoint @p ~ ~1 ~Placed under a pressure plate, it saves the spawn point of the player who steps on it.
/spawnpoint @s ~ ~ ~ 180 0Sets your spawn point here, and you will look north when you respawn.

Command generatorEach player has a personal spawn point. /spawnpoint uses the dimension in which it runs, so it also works in the Nether or the End. The rotation, yaw then pitch, sets where the player looks on respawn. Sleeping in a bed, or setting a Respawn Anchor, overwrites it. Players without a personal spawn point use the world spawn, set with /setworldspawn.
Put a Command Block under a Stone Pressure Plate with /spawnpoint @p ~ ~1 ~: the player who steps on the plate respawns there. The success message shows the coordinates, the rotation and the dimension, which is handy for checking a setup.
The command does not move anyone: the new point only applies at the next death. In a command block, @p picks the player closest to the block. The position is a block position: ~ ~ ~ means the block where you stand. To move a player right now instead of after death, use /teleport.

Yes. /spawnpoint uses the dimension where the command runs, so running it in the Nether makes the player respawn there.
