Stone Pressure Plate block in Minecraft
The Stone Pressure Plate is two stone side by side, the classic trigger for doors that only people and mobs should open. A pressure plate sends a redstone signal while something stands on it.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Stone. It is mined with a pickaxe.
What it does
Stone and polished blackstone plates react only to players and mobs, so dropped items never trigger them: the safe choice for automatic doors. Wooden plates, by contrast, react to anything, items and arrows included.
Weighted plates count what stands on them and give a signal that grows with the number of entities, items included. The light one, made of gold, reaches full strength with 15 entities; the heavy one, made of iron, needs 150, which makes it a measuring tool for item and mob farms.
