/save-all command in Minecraft

/save-all writes the loaded chunks and all player data to disk without waiting for the next automatic save. Add flush to make sure everything is written before the command ends. It needs level 4 and is used on dedicated servers, mostly before backups.

Syntax

/save-all [flush]

// Only on a dedicated server: the command does not exist in single player or in a world opened to LAN.

All 2 forms

Command generator

With or without flush

Plain /save-all answers Saving the game (this may take a moment!), then Saved the game. /save-all flush waits until every chunk is actually written, which can freeze a big server for a moment but guarantees that the files on disk are complete. Use flush right before you copy the world.

The command still works when automatic saving is off with /save-off. A safe backup is: /save-off, /save-all flush, copy the folder, then /save-on. Before a shutdown you do not need it, since /stop saves on its own.
