Iron Horse Armor item in Minecraft
The Iron Horse Armor is armor for a horse: put it in the armor slot of a tamed horse's inventory to protect it in fights and falls. Found in dungeons, temples and fortresses, it gives 5 armor points.
It cannot be crafted; it can be found in chests.
What it does
Only horses and zombie horses can wear horse armor; donkeys, mules and llamas cannot. Tame the horse first, then open its inventory while riding or sneaking and place the armor in the slot below the saddle. The armor shows on the horse and adds armor points, which matters a lot once you ride into battle.
Most horse armor cannot be crafted: it is found in chests of desert pyramids, jungle temples, dungeons, strongholds, Nether fortresses, End cities and village weaponsmiths. Only leather horse armor has a recipe, and a diamond one can be upgraded to netherite on a smithing table.
Horse armor does not wear down and cannot be enchanted, so once found it lasts forever.
