Iron Hoe item in Minecraft
The Iron Hoe is a hoe, the farming tool: it turns dirt and grass into farmland ready for seeds, and it is the fastest tool for leaves, hay, moss and sculk. Made from iron ingots, it lasts 250 uses and clears leaves quickly, a good all-round choice for a working farm.
It is made with the Crafting Table from 2 × Stick and 2 × Iron Ingot.
What it does
Use a hoe on the top of a grass block, dirt or a dirt path with air above it to till it into Farmland, where wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroots grow. On coarse dirt it gives normal dirt, and on rooted dirt it gives dirt plus a few hanging roots.
A hoe also breaks a whole set of soft blocks faster than anything else: leaves, hay bales, moss, sculk blocks, targets, sponges, dried kelp blocks and nether wart blocks. With Silk Touch it collects leaves and sculk intact, and Fortune raises the harvest of crops broken with it.
As a weapon a hoe deals almost no damage, but better materials swing faster. Like other tools, two worn hoes of the same material can be merged to restore durability.
